Laurence O’Bryan: Books Go Social

Books & the Internet

An unending source of  innovation

At times, something new and interesting on the web is scarce and at times there is a deluge.

Case in point, when author Laurence O’Bryan clicked the Follow button on my Twitter account @JuneLorraineR I went to his Twitter profile, then to his website and onto his blog to find out about him. There was much to discover.

BooksGoSocial is a platform developed by O’Bryan as a way to connect readers to writers. O’Bryan says, “The purpose of the site is for people to see covers, read first pages and order from Amazon if they like the book. The aim is to provide a fast way for readers to get a taste of a book.” He says taste, I say flavour. We’re definitely on the same page.

O’Bryan is deep into social media having authored: Social Media is Dynamite – How to Get Noticed and Sell More using Social Media, released in December. As social media is a topic of much interest to me (hat tip to UofT Digital Strategy Management classmates) we may be kindred spirits on this level as well.

It doesn’t stop there, he has published three thrillers: The Manhattan Puzzle, The Jerusalem Puzzle and The Istanbul Puzzle and as well, has contributed to The Perfect Murder – A Collection of Short Stories.

O’Byran is the kind of man you’d really like to meet.
