Harry Bosch: In Person

Many of us have been following Michael Connolly’s LAPD Detective Harry Bosch for 18-years. Now we will be able to watch him via Amazon Studios (stream Bosh on Amazon Prime) thanks to Connolly’s efforts. The project is based on the book series plus new material, and a voting system for those who view the pilot. The higher the rating the more likely the screen series will be put into full production.

The time is current LA and Bosch, played by Titus Welliver, is 47. This is out of sync with the book series, but that’s the idea of the old plus the new. It’s moody, beautifully shot and Welliver brings his constrained presence to the role. He plays Bosch splendidly. Is he everyone’s idea, not likely, but for me he is superb.

Will there be a season? I’d say yes as early votes are very good and if Connolly continues to be heavily involved we will not be disappointed. Information on how to access the video is on Connolly’s website as well as additional information on the project and how you can vote to keep the episodes coming.

Read the Wall Street Journal article outlining Connolly’s journey to bring Hieronymus Bosch to the screen. Then, queue the ‘tape’ and let me know what you think.
