Florida Book Awards: Winners under the sun

Winter abounds in Toronto and the rest of Canada and I am at times reluctant to admit I am in a warmer part of the world. However the Florida book awards were announced earlier this year and I should acknowledge the winners of the crime fiction medals for your consideration.

Randy Wayne White – for his second Hannah Smith mystery: Deceived

Popular Fiction

Silver medal

Book Review The Fifth Assassin

Brad Meltzer – for his second Beecher White thriller: The Fifth Assassin

Happy reading!

  1. Two of these writers are regulars in my library. To date I have read all of Brad Meltzer’s books, and find them educational as well as entertaining. He has a different style of writing that I appreciate.

Alex Kava is another fine writer. I have read all of her Maggie O’Dell mysteries. One of the things I like the most about her is that she can end a book better than most writers. There’s always something heart warming, funny, or thought provoking at the end. Of course I like the entire book as well.

    • Hi Jerry, Alex Kava is a completely ”new to me author” so thanks for letting us in on her knack for book endings. Not every author can do this well, it’s good to of one who shines in this area.

      Thanks for dropping by…
