Family lies

It’s a cop family of three generations. The murder of officer Stan Walczak, along with his partner in 1965, has ramifications felt 50-years later.

In 1995, Walczak’s son Jim begins investigating the man he believes is responsible for the double shooting. The ex-con is adamant he was not involved. There are no answers.

Now it’s 2015. Walczak’s granddaughter Audrey needs to complete a project to graduate with her CSI credentials. She begins her own investigation into the killings and gets caught-up in something much bigger.

Father and daughter both struggle to find the truth within their own time frame. No one wants them to succeed but perhaps the time is right now for the truth to be known. What’s revealed is beyond the scope of their imagining.

Duane Swierczynski has given us a complex story about family, police, racism and corruption. Take the time to read it.
