Ron Corbett: Ragged Lake

Ron Corbett, June Lorraine Roberts, Ragged Lake, Murder In Common

Confluence

Like a fire gone to ground, Ragged Lake is slow and steady. For those who like their crime fiction dark, it’s well worth the immersion. Atmospheric, strained and striking, descriptions of the area bring you deep into Northern Divide country.

Frank Yakabuski is the detective on the case of a family found murdered in a shack in the woods. A former soldier used to caution and care, and once an undercover cop, he is the ideal investigator.

This is a tightly written book, as sparse as the number of people still living in the former mill town. Which brings the question, who could have done this? This fiction debut by Ron Corbett is well worth the read.

~ June Lorraine

Another highly recommend debut: Blood on the Tracks
