Reed Farrell Coleman: Where it Hurts

Where It Hurts Reed Farrel Coleman

 Sleep walker

If he had his druthers, retired cop Gus Murphy would not be a courtesy van driver for a cheap hotel, he wouldn’t be divorced, and his son wouldn’t be dead. But life is a shell game and one’s own way is not always on the table.

Murphy’s life is a list of tasks completed in a fog, but when approached by ex-con Tommy Delcamino he finds a spark of interest. The body of Tommy’s son was found beaten to death and there doesn’t seem to be an active investigation. Murphy agrees to help. Then Tommy is murdered.

What comes next is a mixed bag of mean, dangerous characters, all protecting their asses and warning Murphy away from the case. Luckily, there are a few others that offer hope for his battered soul. Where it Hurts is a new series from Coleman and is hard-boiled crime at it’s best.

  2. I have read Coleman’s Jesse Stone series that he took over from the late Robert B. Parker. This work and some of his others are on my ever growing list.
