Matt Goldman: Gone to Dust

Matt Goldman, June Lorraine Roberts, Gone to Dust, MurderinCommon.comBitter remains

Nils Shapiro, a Minnesota police officer laid-off from the job becomes a Private Investigator. The town of Edina asks Shap to help with an unusual homicide. The victim, was found on her bed covered with debris from vacuum cleaner bags, many bags.

Working with a former colleague the investigation points toward a childhood acquaintance. A bully and blowhard that is the brother of a friend. Also the victim’s cell phone records reveal numerous phone calls to a medical student. No one knows anything about that relationship.

Then the FBI, appear. Give up on your suspect they say. It’s interfering with an ongoing operation they say. You’re putting our informant at risk they say. None of this will slow Shap down.

Gone to Dust is all this and more. Matt Goldman had created a likeable, smart character in this debut. The second book in this series Broken Ice, will be available June 12, 2018.

~ June Lorraine

Another book with a fairly sane PI: David Achord’s Wildcat
