Nick Kolakowski: Boise Longpig Hunting Club

Boise Longpig Hunting Club Nick KolakowskiIn their sights

Jake Halligan is a bounty hunter in Idaho. Money can be tight, but he and his ex-wife are about to remarry, so things are looking up. It’s not the only anomaly in his life, his sister Frankie is a black-market arms dealer and one tough woman.

Arriving home from visiting neighbours, Halligan finds a dead teenager in his gun safe. He’s about to find out the connection to a gas station shoot-out.

The hunting club is a type of challenge Halligan’s never had to meet before. But now he is arse out to the wind. Tough and taut, Nick Kolakowski gives us an Iraqi vet tenacious and unyielding. Is this enough to save him, or those he loves?

Read Boise Longpig Hunting Club and find out. Available August 13.

  1. I started to scroll through your home page, looking for something that I had read, I got this far down (2 1/2 years) before I gave up.

    I do read a reasonable amount…

It made me realise two things:
    1. How important the cover of a book is in attracting a reader
    2. If you only ever read one book by every author you’d never run out of things to read.

On a less thoughtful note, I’m going to give this one a try. I liked the cover 🙂

      • There is a good question. I guess in truth I wanted to see if we liked the same things before I went for a recommendation.

        Which is of course dreadful.

I’m reminded of the story of an American in Paris who met another American and asked him for a restaurant recommendation. He should really have asked a Parisien, but who knows where that would have lead… Probably snails and frogs legs.

Groupthink is a horrible thing 🙁

      • I understand your point, however if someone doesn’t like noir, my website wouldn’t be for them. So I think it’s a reasonable place to start. I like dark & complicated, good people doing bad, and vice versa. So readers who don’t would go elsewhere, my reading world would be too grim and weighty for them 🙂
