Razor’s edge

DS Ruth Lake finds her partner Greg Carver at home, shot and sitting in his easy chair, a gun on the floor.

She is desperate to cover-up that he’s been working at home on the high-profile case the Thorn Killer murders. She takes the gun, his files, and wipes the scene.

Carver survives the attack with no memory of the incident. Lake is walking a sharp line to solve the case, now the lead while Carver is out of action. She keeps everything close to her chest as he sweats it out in the hospital.

The lives of future victims are at stake and it’s not an easy road to resolution. A taxing case with duplicity at its core and an exciting debut.
