Brian ‘Brick’ Kavanagh, a homicide detective in Washington DC, is called out to investigate the body of a woman in the Tidal Basin.
Cherry blossom season means heavy tourist traffic and the city executives aren’t happy about the optics of the murder. Their rush to judgement means they want an immediate arrest.
When the woman’s death is tied to the case of Jose, a missing worker at a bar Kavanagh frequents, things shift into sharper focus.
Kavanagh is a likable man, and logical cop with a strong sense of justice. He’ll need a streak of recklessness to get the job done.
This debut by Shawn Wilson is the beginning of a good series. The characters are well drawn and substantial.

Wow!
Cool. Well drawn and substantial characters are my thing. I like the idea of getting in on a series from the start, for a change. I’m putting this one on my list.
Let me know what you think Pam 🙂
Will do.
Sounds like a great thriller!
It’s not as Noir as some of the books I’ve written about, but certainly a good read. Thanks for dropping by!
