She is the creator of MurderInCommon.com, a website about crime fiction books and authors, that features debut and mid-list writers worldwide. Her website is a FeedSpot Top 100 Crime Fiction Blog.
A graduate of the London School of Journalism and a member of Sisters in Crime, she has served as a Derringer Judge and Bouchercon panelist, and has read her work at Noir at the Bar. As time permits, she beta reads for crime fiction authors.

For those of you not familiar with the term, Flash Fiction is very short stories generally from 750 to 1200 words, depending upon the publishers requirements.
Some random bits:
I began reading crime fiction at an early age by sneaking from the kids side of the library to where the real books were kept.
I’m a self-proclaimed writer & dilettante word crafter. My hobbies include: staring at keyboards, looking out windows, gazing at empty pages, and crying over a well balanced pinot noir.
I was never a trophy wife but got to play the part for 3-years in Asia.

Just saw a comment by you on beetleypete, a blog I’ve been following religiously since 2013. Since I am writing back-to-back detective novels (to be published simultaneously in 2021), I thought it would be interesting to follow your blog.

Have you sent a story for me to look at for one of my contests? We actually just had a murder mystery contest. Of course you knew that because you were reading one of the stories earlier.

The Second Girl. Love the idea of a narcotics detective addicted to narcotics. It reminds me a bit of Filth and Crime by Irvine Welsh. Those two are tangentially crime fiction (Crime being closer to the genre), but stellar reads.

June, had to stop by and say thank you for following me—which has me looking over my shoulder—In My Cluttered Attic. The fact that you made this questionable (well some non-readers might think so) decision, without any coercion on my part—the check is in the mail—is an obvious testament to my ability at convincing people that I can actually write compelling content—that, an the possibility that you may have read one of my post shortly after coming home from a Christmas party, where there may have been lot of alcohol consumption. It’s a good thing, though, because my yearly follower bribery budget looks rather lean right now. I’ve noticed that your writing has a sense of humor as well—not that I would ever suggest that I have a sense of humor, emphatically demand perhaps, but never suggest—and so I look forward to reading more of your post. I’ve been told reading other bloggers is a great way to exchange (and otherwise steal) fellow bloggers ideas. Not that I would ever stoop to stealing ideas, but I’m not above it either. But in all seriousness, I am genuinely delighted to have you visiting my blog, and many thanks. I’m now going to have a look around at your blog, but not to worry, as I see your security detail is going to be kind enough to accompany me. :O)

Hi Karen, I do freelance communications so there are times I’m not working. Hard on the money side but great for the writing/reading side of things.
I hold an EU passport – I guess that may change – my father was a Londoner. However my grandmother was from Wales. Sadly, I have no idea where. Wales is on my travel list, possibly for 2017

I wouldn’t call myself a crime fiction lover but then realized that I like quite a lot of crime mysteries (Agatha Christie, Sherlock Holmes, Murdoch Mysteries, etc.).
