Roland March Series

back on murder Patternof wounds nothing to hide

In November, I made a brief mention of the eBook Back on Murder the first of the Roland March series by J. Mark Bertrand. Now well into the second book of the series, Pattern of Wounds, what I said then, still stands – this is a very good writer.

Roland March is a homicide detective who stopped ‘showing up’ for his job some time ago. Despite past fame he is now a disgrace throughout the department. He has cashed in all of his favours to stay employed and time is running out. Given one last chance Roland is desperate to redeem himself. It will take time and even with successes, there are those who still have doubts that he won’t backslide.

Bertrand’s writing has rhythm and a steady, clear flow that has detail, context and consistency. He is crisply descriptive and never bogs you down in unending detail. You get a healthy snapshot not a retina burn.

Really, what more can I say? Nothing to Hide is the third book in the series and at some point I’ll be picking it up to add to the never ending list.

Back on murder is still available for Kindle at $0.00. Order it now and keep it on hand for some sanity during the holiday rush.

Is your season rushed? How much reading do you get a chance to do this time of the year?
