Curtis Bausse: Perfume Island

Perfume Island Curtis BausseParadise Interrupted

Mayotte is where Magali and Charlotte have settled in a flat on loan from a friend. They are companions and lovers since Magali solved the murder of Charlotte’s son.

One evening, driving home in the dark, Charlotte hits a woman who dashed onto the road. The Gendarmerie Nationale pronounce her dead. But Charlotte wasn’t driving that fast and there are confusing associations around the woman and the accident itself.

Located off the coast of southwestern Africa, the island has surging tensions that have lead to riots. Afraid of arousing further hostility the women endeavour to keep to themselves. It doesn’t work out too well.

Perfume Island is a delightful book by Curtis Bausse, the author of One Green Bottle: A Magali Rousseau Mystery.

Not sure what happened. I went back in and the Publish button was still active which meant it was ‘Unpublished’ Should be fine now, but you’ll likely get another notice.

      Sorry about that!
