Francis Hoyt: the thief. Brilliant planning, successful carry-through, clean get-away. Specializes in sterling silver.

Manny Perez: the cop. Miami robbery detective. Obsessed with Hoyt and driven to track him down.

Charlie Floyd: attorney general investigator (retired). Former colleague of Perez and enticed to join the hunt.

Three men, one game of catch-me-if-you-can. The closer the hunters get the more serious the game becomes.  New to me author Charles Salzberg has produced a yarn worth the time in Second Story Man.
