Caleb Zelig and Frankie Reynolds are partners in the security investigation firm Trust Works.
Zelig has dogged work and determination to his benefit. Almost completely deaf since childhood, he works hard to manage lip reading and his hearing aids.
Reynolds an ex-cop, has been dry for 6-years. She maintains day to day, the best she can. She is abrasive, observant and unsympathetic.
Together, they get the job done. Working with each other’s strengths, managing each other’s weaknesses.
When Zelig’s friend is murdered while doing minor work on a Trust Works case, guilt drives a flat out investigation for Zelig, and a return to his childhood home of Resurrection Bay.
This great debut by Emma Viskic has excellent tension and a mind blowing twist.
