Long a favourite author of mine, Denise Mina has a new stand-alone that is intense, quirky and strangely rewarding.
Anna McDonald ran years ago to save her life. She is a cold case, listed as missing, presumed dead.
The day her husband announces he is off with her best friend, is the day she knows her safely constructed world has shattered.
It’s the podcast about a former friend Leon, believed to have murdered his family, that keeps her going.
Accompanied by Fin, the anorexic spouse of her husband’s mistress, the journey begins to prove Leon innocent.
Conviction is intriguing, humorous and a great read – if you like something different. And we all know I do.

I wonder if I could laugh at this one.
Why are you wondering?
June, I. was initially overtaken. I may as well catch my breath, and let the humor unfold in this fast moving whodonit, cold-case read. Thanks for introducing this amazing author.
Nicely stated!

Great minds! I’ll be posting my review of Conviction tomorrow. I agree, it is a great read. I’m a fan of the story-within-a-story device and this time, it was hard to decide whether Anna or Leon’s story was the most compelling. Glad you recommended this!
Thanks Vicky, happy to hear you liked it as well! And yes, great minds.
Sounds interesting. Will look out for it.
I think you’ll like it John. BTW I left a comment on Amazon regarding Bitter Ends.
