Vendetta – Revenge

Frank Thompson is an old warrior, long removed from the jungles and strife of Vietnam.

For some warriors though, things are not forgotten. Like the time Thompson killed a black-ops soldier during Operation Phoenix.

Spotted by one of the dead soldiers friends at a trap range, while visiting family in New Jersey, Thompson knows there will be trouble. When the windows in his nephew’s home are shot out that night, it confirms he prey to the All-Star CIA sponsored team he trained.

Thompson is heading back to his home in Maine, and his response to the team in a late night phone call – bring it on.

The Dead Don’t Sleep is a superb read. An excellent balance of characters and plot, with vivid settings. Heavy arms, quick action – the woods of Maine will never seem peaceful again.

Very suspenseful. There are realities that open up into the heart of today’s public forum of current events. Those realities are racism and military occurrences. This read is not your usual murder mystery, but one that is an action-filled murder suspense! 👍

I usually don’t go for military related stories, I don’t know why that is, but this one sounds intriguing. I might give it a try. I’ve been ridiculously restless and ultra finicky about my reading lately. I’ve started several books, good books from authors that I like, only to put them down after a chapter or two. Bluebird by Attica Locke is my latest buy. Do you know it? I haven’t started it yet, fingers crossed.

Sorry I missed your comment Pam. I’ve done the same with some books. Occasionally I go back and try again and occasionally it works 🙂

The peacefulness of the Maine woods shattered! Haha. I like the idea of taking such a peaceful place and filling it with chaos and battle. Excellent post!

Thanks for calling attention to this book. Several of the characters–good and bad–were quite memorable! You just knew his nephew should avoid trying to “help”!
