The Rockaway Mob is pissed. Bill has made off with their money. He’s tired of the con artist life and sees the money as a score to relieve the tedium of his existence. It could even be a mid-life crisis he’s going thru.
The head of the Rockaway mob is The Dean, a fussy, pompous, and dangerous man, who sends a killer after him. The hitter happens to be Fiona, a past love interest of Bill’s.
And the magic of sorts, begins again with them, now they’re both on the run. Of course it’s not perfect, Fiona is getting weary of Bill’s antics, but every relationship has its ups and downs.
As additional hitman are sent for them, this thriller takes off in great style. At times funny, at times poignant. It’s a great read to shake off the early winter blues.
I’ve featured Kolakowski’s work before, the Boise Longpig Hunting Club here at Murder in Common in 2018, and I reviewed his excellent dystopian book Maxine Unleashes Doomsday. Click Here to read the great reviews for that book.

Just finished this yesterday. I read the three original releases a long while back. Enjoyed the re-boot, despite suffering from a mini reading slump at the minute.
It a great read and good for a cure ๐
I absolutely love the cover illustration. The story sounds good, too!
Me too, it’s really excellent
Oh, snap! This is what I’m talkin’ about. Did you write the blurb, June? If you did, I’m jealous. I’m not even going kindle on this one…I’m going full paperback. Ha!
Sounds like it would make a great television series!
It would Laurie, I agree ๐
I just saw a quick presentation he did at the Terror Australis CSI: Tasmania conference. He was great!
I’m so happy to hear that, he’s a great guy to deal with, and a talented writer ๐
