Mike Knowles is one of my favourite writers, and this book is no exception to his craft.
It’s been six years since Sam Jones has been looking for a missing boy. When he finds him, the truth is gut-wrenching.
Lost in his actions the day Jones confronts the killer, he makes a mistake that he knows will end in his incarceration.
He figures he has seven days before he is caught. That’s one week to find a missing teenager who left cryptic messages on the washroom door of a coffee shop. But in Running from the Dead, who is Jones really trying to save?
Great characters, a tense, can’t-put-it-down read, and race to the finish. Highly recommended!
I also reviewed Rock Beats Paper by Knowles in 2017. Click here to read about that one.

A person doesn’t pick up a can’t-put-it-down book every day, and this one sounds like it fits the bill.
I just finished one of those can’t-put-it-down novels, called The Maid. Honestly, I was glued to my chair the whole time.
I’m with you on that feeling 🙂
Sounds exciting! One to add to the list.
It does sound fast-paced and absorbing, June. That’s an interesting premise, too!
Knowles doesn’t waste a word and his writing is sparely elegant in it’s way 🙂
