Detective Elise Sutton is shopping for towels at a department store when she hears the gunshots.
She locates the shooter and takes her shot putting him down. The impact of this exacerbates her anxiety condition and she fixates on the ‘tall man’ who had been in the shooter’s crosshairs.
By chance she sees the man driving out of a parking lot and follows him. Wade Austin is warm and understanding, sharing many of her feelings about the shooting. Then things take a bad turn.
Really, this book is a delicious read. Beautifully paced, clever and compelling. What Remains is a well recommended suspense thriller for you.

I must say this book does sound interesting June ๐ Has Wendy Walker wrote other works that sound great? ๐ I say sound great because this is the first time I heard of her ๐
Yes, she has a few books out John, she’s actually a best selling author. Not the usual author I review (I mainly review debut and mid-list writers) but I enjoyed it and decided to put it out for those who aren’t familiar with her work. Here’s a link to her website: https://www.wendywalkerbooks.com/
Thanks for the link June, now I totally need to check out some of her books ๐
Great premise for a story. You’ve certainly piqued my interest.
I think this one is for you Laurie ๐
What an interesting premise for a story, June! That sort of story can take any one of a number of turns, and that’s what makes it so appealing. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
