Summer Read Ideas & Hiatus

“Live in the sunshine. Swim in the sea. Drink in the wild air.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Time for my summer hiatus, but before I go here are a few recommendations for your consideration.

Richard John Parfitt: Stray Dogs

Raw, powerful, and the most apt book title ever. Teenage friends, drifters of sort, tasked with delivering a special item to pay off a debt. Fasten your seat belt, Richard John Parfitt has a journey for you – Wow!

Melissa Yi: The Shapes of Wrath

A demonic surgeon. A haunted hospital. And the doctor caught between them. Great fun, great read, always the best writing from Melissa Yi.

Hansjörg Schneider: The Murder of Anton Livius

Inspector Hunkeler is back in Book Three. An old man has been shot in the head and is hanging from a hook in his garden shed.

And I haven’t read it yet! This is the reading challenge for me and you to get to.

Joe R. Lansdale: The Donut Legion

Fringe groups, doomsday cult and a raft of oddball characters. It’s Joe R. Lansdale at his best, in this standalone novel.
