The Misadventures of Imogene Taylor

Imogene has been out of prison for two years now. She was 63 when she went in. Her job at Dentco means her days are spent sitting on a stool beside the cash register which is good for her 75 year old bones.
As much as she wants a quieter life, things just keep happening. The probation witch hounds her, the gangster called The Cigar wants protection money, the boss without an ounce of compassion.
At least the Secret Service agent who keeps an eye on her is decent enough. All the threatening letters she wrote to the President while incarcerated caused that situation.
She has a tiny bit of hope in her life. A letter from a publisher about her manuscript. The letter that’s still unopened so her dream can stay alive.
Imogen sets up The Cigar and he is arrested by the Feds. Of course it comes back to bite her when he arrives at her house shortly after with death threats. And the probation witch? She’s just had Imogene arrested for consorting with felons.
The Blind Devotion of Imogene is an exuberant, and meaty read. Brimming with characters and scenarios that have shaking your head with a grin. David Putnam has imbued this book with just the right amount of tension and anguish. Well recommended read.
