Reed Farrel Coleman: Blind to Midnight and James Gregory: Zephyr’s War

Oh boy! Book #2 in the Nick Ryan Series Blind to Midnight is now out. Detective Ryan is “The Cop” of NYC. He works in a shadow world for those in power. His contact’s name is simply Joe.

Ryan’s personal life is turned sideways when his “Uncle” Nick and his wife are murdered. It’s a professional hit. Joe wants him away from that case and focused on a murder that took place during the 9/11 attacks. But Ryan is his own man regardless of those who believe they control him.

Sleepless City is Book #1 and I encourage you to start there. I reviewed it in July of 2023 and you can read that review by Clicking Here.

Zed Zephyr is an ambitious and determined man. He leaves the family sunflower farm in the Ukraine for NYC. An astute man, he looks for troubled companies, restructures them and makes them profitable.

In preparation for a stock market IPO, Zephyr hires the consultants at Crocker & Stackhouse to help him build his brand and take his business to new heights. All this success brings him to the attention of the Russian mafia and they begin to move in. With the mob comes the FBI and Securities and Exchange Commission. Things get busy!

Zephyr’s War is a solid read and entertaining to boot.

Didn’t know any of these, first one looks great 👀

Some series are like that, June: best read in order. This sounds like a high-octane book with some interesting characters. Glad you enjoyed it.

Both sound like good reads. Would you recommend starting with one over another?
