Detective Emily Hunter returns in Book #2 of this acclaimed (Lou Berney, T. Jefferson Parker, Karen Dionne et al) series by James L’Etoile.
A homeless camp comes under attack by fire setters and baseball bat wielding thugs. Among the debris a man’s body is found but liver temperature shows the body too cold to have been murdered through this event.
When the his identity reveals a former politician, things don’t hold up to scrutiny. The stakes are high and big money is in play.
James L’Etoile writes his characters with heart and Emily Hunter is the pivot that makes it all work. And the crime, well it’s ruthless.
Kevin G. Chapman: Double Takedown
This is Book #6 in the Mike Stoneman Series and brings the high profile poisoning of a Broadway producer in a fast open and shut case.
A visit from a PI brings a whisper of doubt. Why did things fall into place so easily?
While Stoneman is opposed to look into things Dickson can’t shake the thought that they’ve been played.
As well as the homicides, award winning author Kevin Chapman is great at bringing us into the personal lives of the detectives giving us the reality of their lives on and off the job.
