Silva Vila is missing. Last seen one night with a local boy she never came home. Her twin brother Mate checks her secret hiding place and discovers her passport and cash are gone.

    This was a really interesting book, suggesting the long timeline over which incidents of violence and possible violence play out and their inter-generational effects. Great recommendation!

        Well, I finished Red Water. It is a beautifully written book that I really appreciated. The character development and the detailed atmosphere pulled me in. I found it to be both heartbreaking and life affirming. Loved it.

    It sounds as though this is as much a look at a time and place as it is the story of a family. That said, though, the characters sound really interesting and the story compelling. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
