This debut novel by Joel Nedecky reveals the erratic and sadly predictable thought processes of a bleak and desperate man.
At times you want to shake him, at times you want to sit quietly and listen. You mainly hope he can give up the booze.
The Broken Detective is a gritty depiction of Joelsen as he works to stay sober. For the clock ticks on, and menace is not far from his shoulder. What comes next from Nedecky should be very interesting.
