Paul Doiron: Storm Tide

Maine Game Warden, Mike Bowditch, attempts to rescue the Malloy family from a burning house. It’s kind of ironic that the man owned gyms called Feel The Burn Fitness. Many believe that Brain Malloy was responsible for the death of his illegitimate son “Little Liam”.

Not long after, a perplexing lead has Bowditch driving to the scene where a man’s body has been cut in half by a train. The man was a suspected rapist and murderer who was never convicted.

Bowditch is starting to see a trend and he knows vigilante “justice” may be a seductive premise until the body count rises. But why is someone trying to involve him?

On the home front there’s a serious disciplinary hearing for Bowditch, his wife Stacey is seemingly being stalked, and there are signs that their home is being watched. All threads that create emotional urgency in the story.

This is Book 16 of a 16 book series! Not realizing such, I was happy to discover that it was a comfortably immersive read for someone so late to the books.

Storm Tide will deliver relentless momentum, wintry atmosphere, and troublesome questions about guilt and punishment.
