The Power of 13
Great reads in this anthology from the Mesdames and Messieurs of Mayhem.
The Power of 13 has grifters, ghosts, murderers, and more. This from some of the best short story writers around.
I laughed at The Cat and The Body in Bessie’s Bed, and in An Unlucky Stiff we have the line “…Aunt Stella accidentally murdered Uncle Massimo!” Apparently, accidental murder does happen.
I must fully admit to shedding a tear for A Hard Ticket where the sniper Veteran Jocko is haunted by his comrades. Very poignant and significant for this time of year.
Behind the Red Door gives us karma at its best. Lennie and the 13 brings justice, and Flamingo Flamenco speaks to gratitude.
Timely, interesting, satisfying, creepy, it’s all in this anthology.
