“When I went into rehab, Tawney had been dead for three years, nine months, and twenty-two days.”

The ‘Stars Six Feet Under’ tour bus has a notable guide, Salma Lowe. Her sister Tawney, the actor known as The Hurricane Blonde, drowned in her home’s swimming pool in the 90s.
The sisters, children of Hollywood elite, were very different. Tawney was the glamorous star and part of a power couple with director Cal Turner.
The younger Salma was a child star. She became an embarrassing addict after Tawney’s death. The death she always believed was murder at Cal’s hand.
During a tour of Tawney’s former home, another blonde is found drowned in the pool. Is it a coincidence that she was one of Cal’s stars? Salma thinks not.
Determined after all these years to prove her theory correct, Salma joins Cal’s production of a movie about Tawney as an advisor. The secrets she eventually unburies could be her final undoing.
I reviewed Halley Sutton’s excellent debut The Lady Upstairs in February 2021, you can Click Here to read it. Her second book does not disappoint, I kept sneaking my reading of it in between other book reviewing obligations.
